Job summary

Dawson Road Maintenance is seeking Seasonal Operators with a Class 1 or 3 license to maintain roads, clear snow and ice, and perform related duties across our service area in British Columbia. This temporary, full-time role reports to the Road Foreperson and may involve travel within the province.

Ideal candidates have at least two years of road maintenance or construction experience, plus driving experience and the ability to manage electronic reporting using tablets.

Qualifications

• Two years of road maintenance and/or construction experience.
• Valid Class 1 license preferred, or Class 3 license is required.
• Two years of commercial driving experience is an asset.
• Snow removal experience is considered an asset.
• Knowledge of road construction materials and processes.
• Heavy Equipment Operating Certificate is an asset.
• Able to manage electronic reporting using tablets.
• Minor equipment maintenance

Responsibilities

• Prioritize safety of self and others in all tasks.
• Collaborate with team to complete tasks and keep roads safe.
• Perform unskilled manual work requiring physical effort.
• Operate heavy equipment in all weather on public roadways.
• Follow supervisor daily production schedule and activities.
• Maintain daily work progress and completion status.
• Maintain proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment.
• Complete all work reports and maintenance logs.
