CPEG (formerly known as J. Oskam) specializes in Modular Skid Manufacturing, Custom Steel Fabrication and has been in business for over 50 years. Our company’s philosophy is based upon continuous improvement and relies heavily on our training programs, which emphasize employees’ direct involvement. Our aim is to respond to our customers’ ever-changing needs in the most cost-effective and efficient ways. We are looking for enthusiastic, energetic and driven individuals to help support our Fabrication Department in the role of a Welder at our Port Colborne, ON facility.

Tasks/Responsibilities

  • Responsible for preparation of materials, prior to actual welding operations, and the correct preparation of welding equipment.
  • Maintain equipment and tools in welding operations.
  • Performing the correct and specified welding operations as per verbal instructions, drawings, Supervisors, and welding procedures.
  • Ensure proper clean up and operation of work station/area.
  • To always work in a safe way as per Occupational Health and Safety Act and the company's health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Assist Fitter’s when required,
  • Perform general shop and field services as required,

Schedule: 6 week shift rotation

  • Monday to Friday (4 weeks): 7:00AM - 3:30PM
  • Monday to Thursday (2 weeks): 3:30PM - 2:00AM

Preferred Skills

  • Current CWB tickets an asset
  • Experience with blueprint reading and working with tools
  • Team player willing to work towards business targets and takes responsibility for decisions and outcomes
  • Willingness to learn new skills and perform a variety of tasks and roles

Requirements
