Job summary

Goldfish Swim School - Grand Rapids is seeking a Lifeguard to help ensure the safety of our young swimmers and make every visit a GOLDEN experience. Under general supervision, you monitor patrons, enforce facility rules, and respond to emergencies with care and professionalism.

You’ll train on the job, receive flexible scheduling, and join a team that values safety, customer service and a positive, can-do attitude.

Qualifications

• Ability to work with children.
• Prior leadership and teaching experience is preferred.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Must pass background examinations prior to training.

Responsibilities

• Maintains constant surveillance of patrons in the facility; acts immediately and appropriately to secure safety of guests in the event of an accident or emergency.
• Communicates the rules of the facility to patrons fairly and consistently.
• Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
• Ensures that medical services are contacted by most appropriate means when necessary to respond to an emergency.
• Advance through cross-training in multiple roles and substitutes when necessary.
• Provide a Golden Experience to our students, families, and team members.

Role: Lifeguard

Summary: Under general supervision, ensures the safety of patrons of Goldfish Swim School - Grand Rapids by preventing and responding to emergencies.

Safety Standards:

The safety of our swimmers, parents and team members is of the utmost importance. Goldfish Swim School follows all CDC and WHO safety standards along with following any local guidelines. In addition here are some additional safety precautions and procedures we follow:

• Every shift has an on-staff cleaner to sanitize high touch areas in our lobby and pool areas
• Our pools are disinfected with chlorine to provide the safest swimming environment
• Our state-of-the-art ventilation system allows fresh air to continuously circulate into our building, further minimizing the spread of any airborne virus
