Who Are You?

You’re a strong content writer who understands that effective website content needs to do more than sound good. You know how to balance brand voice, user experience, SEO, and business objectives to create content that connects with the right audience. You’re comfortable asking thoughtful questions, working directly with clients, adapting to different industries and brand voices, and using feedback to continuously strengthen your work.

You’re highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced agency environment without compromising quality. You enjoy contributing ideas, improving processes, supporting team training, and staying current on industry trends and best practices. You take ownership of your work, collaborate well with others, and are always looking for ways to make the content and client experience better.

What's the Role?

Great website content starts with strong writing, but it also requires strategy. As a Website Content Strategist on our Website team, you’ll turn client goals, brand voices, audience insights, and SEO best practices into website content that is clear, engaging, and built to perform.

You’ll work directly with clients, manage a portfolio of complex or high-value accounts, and help shape how our team works by contributing to training, improving processes, supporting contractors, and bringing forward ideas that strengthen our content services.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Maintain a client portfolio of complex or high-value clients, focusing on delivering an exceptional client experience, providing strategic guidance, and consistently offering customized solutions that align with client goals and expectations.
  • Create informative, user- and SEO-driven website content tailored to client objectives.
  • Participate in client meetings to understand brand voice and custom content requirements.
  • Develop and maintain style guides that align with each client’s branding.
  • Write content that mirrors each client's unique tone and voice.
  • Conduct research on a wide range of topics to support content creation.
  • Receive and implement feedback from the Team Lead of Website Content Strategy and Senior Content Writers.
  • Ensure the timely delivery of high-quality, error-free content that meets project requirements.
  • Assume responsibility for updating and maintaining all departmental process and training documentation.
  • Assume responsibility for the maintenance and innovation of comprehensive training programs for team members, with occasional support from intermediate strategists.
  • Actively participate in product development discussions, working closely with the manager to innovate and optimize our offerings.
  • Oversee external contractors, assigning tasks and approving completed work to ensure it meets quality and project guidelines.
  • Continuously stay abreast of industry trends and best practices to ensure we are ahead of the curve.
Required Experience & Skills
  • Legally able to work in Canada and located in Calgary, AB
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Business Administration, Marketing, or related field
  • 3+ years of professional writing experience, with at least 2 years in a marketing context
  • 2+ years experience in customer service, hospitality, or client relationship management is an asset
  • Expert-level writing skills, supported by a portfolio of published work
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • An intermediate understanding of SEO concepts
