Job summary

Hazen Canada, a leading water infrastructure firm, is seeking an Instrumentation & Control Systems Engineer in Calgary. The role leads I&C design for water and wastewater projects across Canada and the US, delivering technical leadership and project execution support.

You will work independently on projects within multidisciplinary teams, shaping OT and automation standards and providing trusted advisory services to clients. PE licensure is preferred and growth opportunities abound.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
• 7–10 years of experience in Instrumentation & Controls design for water & wastewater facilities.
• Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng.) license, or ability to obtain reciprocity within defined timeframe.
• Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA, and related standards.
• Experience developing P&IDs, specifications, control system architectures, and construction documents.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Lead for I&C systems on medium to large water & wastewater projects.
• Develop I&C designs using sketches, P&IDs, control narratives, diagrams, and schematics.
• Prepare technical memoranda, reports, specs, drawings, and construction documents.
• Develop process control descriptions for system integrators.
• Lead project coordination meetings and manage scope, budget, and schedules.
