Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Water Resources Engineer to lead municipal water projects across Canada, focusing on urban water systems, hydraulics, and hydrology. You will collaborate with geotechnical, environmental, and survey teams while guiding project delivery and client satisfaction.

The role requires a P.Eng or EIT eligibility with a minimum of five years of experience and a strong background in stormwater, sanitary sewer, and potable water design in Alberta contexts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, or water resources engineering from an accredited university.
• Registered, or eligible for registration, with APEGA as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.)
• Minimum of five years of relevant, demonstrated experience.
• Experience with municipal infrastructure design and construction and Alberta standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee water resources projects, acting as project manager, coordinator, or technical lead.
• Analyze stormwater management, sanitary and storm sewer design.
• Assess and design potable water distribution systems.
• Support and prepare design drawings, reports, and tender docs.
• Lead proposal writing and preparation.
• Manage project setup, invoicing, financials, scheduling, and changes.
• Collaborate across disciplines and attend client/contractor meetings.
• Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance.
