Job summary

Stantec's Western Canada Irrigation Team seeks a Water Resources Engineer (Alberta and Saskatchewan) to support irrigation design, hydrological analysis, and related water conveyance projects across Western Canada.

You will lead designs from concept to construction, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to business development, with tasks ranging from modelling to field investigations and client coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent is required.
• Registered as a P.Eng with APEGA in Alberta.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in water conveyance projects, especially irrigation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare engineering reports, drawings, and specs for irrigation projects.
• Lead designs from concept to construction.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and provide direction on standards.
• Conduct field investigations as required.
• Assist in proposal preparation and client engagement.
• Mentor and supervise junior engineers.
• Attend training to maintain professional development.
• Follow EH&S protocols.
