The Yukon Government, Executive Council Office – Yukon Water Board Administration, is hiring a Licensing Officer to support the Yukon Water Board. You will review applications for water licences and placer mining land use approvals, prepare summaries, and present findings to the Board in a fast-paced environment.

Reporting to the Manager of Licensing, you will ensure licensing processes comply with legislation and board rules while providing excellent client service.

Formación

• Post-secondary diploma in environmental science, natural resource management, or physical or natural sciences.
• Experience reviewing or analyzing projects such as placer mining, municipal wastewater, or hydroelectric power to identify issues and mitigations.
• Experience applying natural resource legislation and policy.
• Strong report writing and oral presentation skills.
• Experience in water resource management is an asset.

Responsabilidades

• Review applications for water licences and Class 4 placer mining land use approvals.
• Prepare written summaries with recommendations for the Yukon Water Board.
• Make presentations to the Board and ensure licensing processes are followed.
• Assist in developing concise authorizations and maintain thorough documentation.
