On Side Restoration Services Ltd. seeks Lead Water Damage Technicians to guide the team, perform hands-on drying, and manage restoration tasks after water damage events.

You will assess structures, operate drying equipment, and ensure safety and quality throughout the process. The role emphasizes leadership, 2+ years in restoration, and certified structural-drying expertise, with on-call rotas and full PPE adherence.

Qualifications

  • Certification: IICRC S500 for water damage restoration.
  • Minimum 2+ years in water damage restoration industry.
  • Experience with structural drying and multi-unit assessments.
  • Proficient with drying equipment and tools.
  • Strong safety, PPE, and proper documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead by example with team mentorship and efficient workflow.
  • Hands-on work on tools while maintaining safety and quality.
  • Conduct structural drying assessments and plan restoration steps.
  • Demolish affected structures and materials as required.
  • Set up and monitor drying equipment.
  • Clean and restore areas impacted by water disasters.
  • Complete restoration tasks to pre-disaster state.
  • Support emergency mitigation as needed.

Position Summary

Ever felt like you’re drowning in stress? Water damage in a home or business is one of the most stressful events our clients might ever experience.
Lead Water Damage Technicians at On Side do the work to evaporate water-related stress, bringing calm, order and dryness to all!
Understanding the urgency of the situation and working with customers in a caring, calm and empathetic manner are paramount to the success of a Lead WDTs day!
Working as a team, WDTs mop up the mess to ensure everything is shipshape and ready to get back to the pre-disaster state.

  • Salary Range: $26-$31/hour

What You’ll Do
  • Team guidance and mentorship: Leading by example, coaching team members, and ensuring efficient workflow
  • Hands-on proficiency: Working directly on the tools while maintaining high standards of safety and quality
  • Structural Drying Assessments
  • Perform demolition of affected structures and materials
  • Set up and monitor drying equipment
  • Clean and restore areas impacted by water-related disasters
  • Complete restoration tasks
  • Support emergency mitigation efforts as needed
What You Bring
  • Leadership abilities and experience leading a team
  • 2+ years previous industry experience
  • IICRC S500-1999 Standard and Reference Guide for Professional Water Damage Restoration certification
  • Knowledge of structural drying procedures and ability to perform multi-unit assessments in accordance with IICRC guidelinesTechnical expertise: Experienced with all drying tools (air movers, negative air machines, pressurized drying systems, floor drying systems, dehumidifiers)
  • Tech-savvy: Comfortable using apps and software for documentation and reporting
  • Problem-solving under pressure: Quickly assessing challenges and implementing practical solutions
  • Willingness to follow all company safety requirements including wearing full PPE as required: Full face masks require clean shave (if applicable)
  • Optimistic outlook and adaptability: A genuine desire to help, including cross-training to support all departments
  • Organized and punctual: Strong time management and tool readiness
  • Physically fit (heavy lifting, crouching, bending, standing, reaching, maneuvering in small spaces)
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal

Disasters can strike at any time so a rotating schedule of 24/7 after hours on-call work is a requirement. Meaning you’ll work regular weekday hours and participate in a rotating after-hours on-call schedule.
