Job summary

On Side is seeking a Lead Water Damage Technician for the Peterborough, ON area. You will guide a team, perform hands-on drying work, and ensure high safety and quality standards during water-related restorations.

The role requires WRT IICRC certification, 2+ years of experience, and the ability to coordinate multi-unit assessments in line with IICRC guidelines. A rotation for after-hours on-call is included in the schedule.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of industry experience

• Knowledge of structural drying procedures and multi-unit assessments per IICRC guidelines
• Technical expertise with drying tools (air movers, dehumidifiers, etc.)
• Tech-savvy: documenting with apps/software and reporting

Responsibilities

• Lead by example and mentor team members to ensure efficient workflow
• Hands-on work on tools while maintaining safety and quality
• Perform Structural Drying Assessments
• Conduct demolition of affected structures and materials
• Set up and monitor drying equipment
• Clean and restore areas affected by water damage
• Support emergency mitigation efforts as needed

Position Summary

Lead Water Damage Technicians at On Side do the work to evaporate water-related stress, bringing calm, order and dryness to all! Understanding the urgency of the situation and working with customers in a caring, calm and empathetic manner are paramount to the success of a Lead WDTs day!

Compensation

• Salary Range: $24-$29/hour

What You’ll Do

• Team guidance and mentorship: Leading by example, coaching team members, and ensuring efficient workflow
• Hands-on proficiency: Working directly on the tools while maintaining high standards of safety and quality
• Structural Drying Assessments
• Perform demolition of affected structures and materials
• Set up and monitor drying equipment
• Clean and restore areas impacted by water-related disasters
• Complete restoration tasks
• Support emergency mitigation efforts as needed

What You Bring

• Leadership abilities and experience leading a team
• 2+ years previous industry experience
• WRT- IICRC Certified
• Knowledge of structural drying procedures and ability to perform multi-unit assessments in accordance with IICRC guidelines
• Technical expertise: Experienced with all drying tools (air movers, negative air machines, pressurized drying systems, floor drying systems, dehumidifiers)
• Tech-savvy: Comfortable using apps and software for documentation and reporting
• Problem-solving under pressure: Quickly assessing challenges and implementing practical solutions
• Willingness to follow all company safety requirements including wearing full PPE as required: Full face masks require clean shave (if applicable)
• Optimistic outlook and adaptability: A genuine desire to help, including cross-training to support all departments
• Organized and punctual: Strong time management and tool readiness
• Physically fit (heavy lifting, crouching, bending, standing, reaching, maneuvering in small spaces)
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal
