On Side Restoration in Surrey, BC is seeking a Lead Water Damage Technician to guide a skilled crew through structural drying and restoration, ensuring safety and quality at every step.

You will lead by example, perform hands-on work with air movers, dehumidifiers, and extraction equipment, and coordinate with clients during high-stress water events, delivering calm, efficient service and clear documentation.

Qualifications

• Leadership abilities and team management experience.
• 2+ years of industry experience in water damage restoration.
• IICRC S500-1999 certification or equivalent.
• Knowledge of structural drying procedures per IICRC guidelines.
• Experience with drying tools including air movers, dehumidifiers and extraction equipment.
• Tech-savvy with apps and reporting for documentation.

Responsibilities

• Team guidance and mentorship to ensure efficient workflow.
• Hands-on work with safety and quality at top of mind.
• Perform structural drying assessments and analyses.
• Demolish affected structures and materials as needed.
• Set up and monitor drying equipment and operate extraction machinery.

Position Summary

Lead Water Damage Technicians at On Side do the work to evaporate water-related stress, bringing calm, order and dryness to all! Understanding the urgency of the situation and working with customers in a caring, calm and empathetic manner are paramount to the success of a Lead WDTs day! Working as a team, WDTs mop up the mess to ensure everything is shipshape and ready to get back to the pre-disaster state.

Compensation

• Salary Range: $26-$31/hour

What You'll Do

• Team guidance and mentorship: Leading by example, coaching team members, and ensuring efficient workflow

What You Bring

• Leadership abilities and experience leading a team
• 2+ years previous industry experience
• IICRC S500-1999 Standard and Reference Guide for Professional Water Damage Restoration certification
• Knowledge of structural drying procedures and ability to perform multi-unit assessments in accordance with IICRC guidelines
• Technical expertise: Experienced with all drying tools (air movers, negative air machines, pressurized drying systems, floor drying systems, dehumidifiers)
• Tech-savvy: Comfortable using apps and software for documentation and reporting
• Problem-solving under pressure: Quickly assessing challenges and implementing practical solutions
• Willingness to follow all company safety requirements including wearing full PPE as required: Full face masks require clean shave (if applicable)
• Optimistic outlook and adaptability: A genuine desire to help, including cross-training to support all departments
• Organized and punctual: Strong time management and tool readiness
• Physically fit (heavy lifting, crouching, bending, standing, reaching, maneuvering in small spaces)
• A safety-first mindset
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal
