Job summary

SRS Distribution Inc. in Dartmouth, NS is seeking a reliable Forklift Operator to safely move building materials within our warehouse and support timely order fulfillment.

You will perform daily lift truck inspections, maintain equipment, build orders to spec, and coordinate with supervisors to resolve issues while representing the company to customers. Candidates must hold propane forklift certification and have at least two years of experience, with basic math, good communication, and basic

Position Purpose

The Forklift Operator prepares loads and unloads building materials in the warehouse through the safe operation of a lift truck. Together with other team members, the Forklift Operator works to exceed customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections of lift trucks and complete required forms.


• Ensure lift truck maintenance and servicing requirements are met.


• Build orders to required specifications for delivery.


• Load and unload building materials in a safe and efficient manner.


• Check load contents for accuracy and secure materials.


• Ensure that all products are shipped on schedule and according to specific instructions by management to meet customer demands.


• Maintain contact with supervisors and work to resolve issues as they arise.


• Act as an ambassador of the company with all employees and customers.


• Follow all regulations, company policies, and procedures.


• Other duties as assigned by management.

Basic Qualifications

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
