GMS Canada proudly represents the Canadian division of Gypsum Management & Supply (GMS), a subsidiary of SRS Distribution Inc. This Moffett Driver role is based in Dartmouth, NS, and requires safe operation of a commercial vehicle, loading and placement at customer sites.

You will perform vehicle checks, ensure load security, and communicate with dispatch and customers while following company policies and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license (DZ/AZ) with Moffett endorsement.
• Minimum 1 year of Moffett operation experience.
• Clean driving record and good communication skills.

Responsibilities

Job description

Position Purpose

The Moffett Driver is responsible for the safe operation of a commercial vehicle and the transportation of building materials and the placement on customer job sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform circle-checks and complete logbook entries.
• Ensure proper vehicle maintenance and servicing.
• Verify load security and accuracy.
• Report all accidents or injuries.
• Communicate professionally with customers, co-workers, and other trades on job sites.
• Maintain contact with dispatch and work to resolve issues as they arise.
• Prepare trucks for reloading and assist warehouse staff as needed.
• Transport loads safely following the rules of the road and representing the company to the highest standards.
• Deliver materials to the assigned area as directed by the customer while prioritizing personal safety and the safety of those around you.
• Act as an ambassador of the company with all employees and customers.
• Follow all regulations, company policies, and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Basic Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license (DZ/AZ with a Moffet License) and a minimum of one year of experience using a Moffett.
• The driver must also have a clean driver’s abstract.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic mathematics.
• Basic hand tool skills.
• Completion of high school preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
• Sitting for long periods of time.
• Frequently climbing up and downstairs.
• Pulling, pushing, bending, and torso twisting movements to transfer building materials between truck and job site.
