Job summary

Modine Manufacturing Company in Calgary is seeking a Wall Fabricator to join the Production team for a night shift (3:00pm-1:30am, Monday-Thursday) at 2234 Portland St SE. You will assemble wall/roof panels, operate hydraulic clinchers, and weld where required.

Requirements include Grade 12, ability to lift 50 lbs, and safety-focused approach. Overhead crane and forklift certification are preferred; OT may be needed.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 education or equivalent.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Must demonstrate organizational skills and be able to work independently.
• Must exhibit safe work practices.
• Overhead Crane & Forklift certified.
• Welding experience an asset.
• Must be willing to work in other areas of our facility as required.
• Must be able work OT on weekdays and weekends when required.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with Co-Workers, Team Leads, Supervisors, Engineering, Quality and Health & Safety.
• Comfortable working in loud environments with hearing protection required.
• Steel toed boots required.

• Meet standard operation procedures to maintain quality standards and inventory controls.
• Follow company health, safety, and policies and wear respirator as required.

Position Description

Scott Springfield by Modine is tier-1 supplier that offers scalable air handling solutions for commercial and industrial customers across North America. This is a Night Shift Position from 3:00pm-1:30am Monday-Thursday.

This role will be based at our 2234 Portland St SE location in Calgary Alberta.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently use various power tools such as a drill, impact gun, grinder, and rivet gun.
• Assemble wall and roof panels by operating the hydraulic clinchers.
• Cut insulation using engineered jigs.
• Tack Weld Z-bars to roof panels with a wire feed welding machine.
• Operate overhead cranes to transport finished goods from tables into the assembly carts.
• Partner with the Lead Hand to meet standard operation procedures in order to accomplish our quality standard, including accurately maintaining inventory controls.
• Employee is responsible to perform the above mentioned, and any other tasks assigned to them in a safe manner and in accordance with our Health & Safety Policies, JHA’s & SWP’s.
• Employee is responsible to understand and follow all Company Policies and Rules.

Required Education & Qualifications

• Grade 12 education or equivalent
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Must demonstrate organizational skills and be able to work independently.
• Must exhibit safe work practices.
• Overhead Crane & Forklift certified
• Welding experience an asset.
• Must be willing to work in other areas of our facility as required.
• Previous experience in manufacturing environment an asset
• Must be able work OT on weekdays and weekends when required.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with Co-Workers, Team Leads, Supervisors, Engineering, Quality and Health & Safety.
• Comfortable working in loud environments (hearing protection required).
• Steel toed boots (CSA Approved 6’ in height or greater) required.
• General understanding of engineering and sheet metal principles.
• Ability to use various hand & power tools (drills, grinders, chop saws, band saws, measuring tape, etc.).
• Safety Requirement – Respirator Use: This position may involve tasks requiring the use of a respirator. In accordance with occupational health and safety standards, all employees must be clean-shaven where the respirator seals to the face to ensure proper fit and protection. Compliance with this requirement is mandatory for employment in this role.
