Job summary

Carmens Group is seeking a Waitstaff team member in Hamilton for part-time, permanent work at high-energy events. Compensation is $18 - $19 CAD per hour plus gratuities, with a focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences.

You will greet guests, serve food and drinks, and collaborate with kitchen and banquet teams to ensure flawless service across weddings, galas, and corporate events.

Qualifications

• Experience in banquet, catering, restaurant, or high-volume service environments.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with guests and team members.
• Ability to lead or supervise a team when needed and stay composed in fast-paced settings.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and professionally to set a welcoming atmosphere.
• Serve food and beverages with care and attention to presentation.
• Communicate dietary needs and menu details to kitchen staff.
• Learn event menus and service plans for smooth operation.
• Maintain guest satisfaction by being attentive and proactive.
• Clear tables, reset service areas, and restock supplies as needed.
• Support the team with side duties and service stations.
• Take direction from supervisors to ensure timely service.
• Demonstrate professionalism and leadership in busy environments.
• Contribute to a collaborative team culture and create memorable guest experiences.
• Perform additional duties to support banquet operations.

What you will be doing:

As a Waitstaff, you’ll be part of a dynamic team that brings events to life—from elegant weddings to corporate galas. You’ll play a key role in delivering seamless service, personalized hospitality, and memorable experiences for every guest, every time.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Greeting guests with warmth and professionalism, creating a welcoming and attentive atmosphere
• Serving food and beverages with efficiency, care, and attention to presentation
• Communicating clearly with kitchen staff to accommodate dietary needs and special requests
• Learning and understanding the details of each event’s menu and service plan
• Ensuring guest satisfaction throughout the event by being attentive, proactive, and responsive
• Clearing tables, resetting as needed, and maintaining clean and organized service areas
• Supporting your team with side duties, such as preparing service stations and restocking supplies
• Taking direction from theSupervisor to ensure smooth and timely service
• Demonstrating sound judgment, professionalism, and leadership in a fast-paced environment
• Contributing to a collaborative and respectful team culture focused on excellence
• Helping to create extraordinary memories for guests celebrating life’s most important moments
• Performing additional duties as assigned to support banquet operations
