Job summary

Vantage, a remote-first tech company based in Toronto, seeks a VP of Engineering to lead a multi-team SaaS organization. You will report to the CTO, mentor engineering managers, drive delivery, quality, and reliability, and partner with Product and Design to translate strategy into actionable roadmaps for scalable software.

You will shape engineering-wide standards, budgets, and hiring practices while communicating clearly with executives, clients, and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in engineering leadership and senior leadership roles, including managing managers of managers.
• Track record delivering customer-facing SaaS products as teams scale.
• Strong technical background in modern SaaS engineering (CI/CD, cloud, agile delivery).
• Experience speaking with executives/C-suite and working with Product, Design, and client-facing teams.
• Experience owning an engineering budget and headcount plan.
• Experience scaling an engineering org during fast growth.

• Lead engineering teams through managers with clear goals, feedback, and growth paths.
• Build management bench via hiring, coaching, and performance management of managers.
• Plan headcount and run hiring for multiple levels of engineers.
