Job summary

The Greater Vancouver Food Bank is seeking a Volunteer Engagement Coordinator to deliver an outstanding volunteer experience. You will recruit, onboard, orient, and engage volunteers, coordinate scheduling, and manage communications across departments and partners.

The role requires strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with flexibility to work evenings and weekends, and the ability to travel to GVFB locations across the region.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of administrative experience in a non-profit setting.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends for volunteer orientations/events.
• Ability to travel within the lower mainland; valid driver’s license is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with Better Impact or similar software.

Responsibilities

• Lead volunteer recruitment and onboarding activities, including screening and orientation.
• Maintain accurate volunteer records in Better Impact and other systems.
• Coordinate volunteer scheduling and communications.
• Prepare reports, statistics, and key volunteer metrics.
• Support policy implementation and event logistics for volunteers.
