Job summary

Greater Vancouver Food Bank is seeking a Fresh Sort Lead to oversee daily fresh food sorting, inventory rotation, and quality control at our Burnaby location. You will coach staff and volunteers, promote safety, and ensure efficient product flow from receiving to distribution in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

The role emphasizes leadership, strict quality checks, and collaboration with partners to support community food programs.

Qualifications

• 2-5+ years experience in operations or process-oriented role.
• Strong leadership and team coaching abilities.
• Experience in warehouse/food handling environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations for fresh sorting, packing, and storage rotation.
• Provide training and coaching to staff and volunteers.
• Ensure food safety, quality checks, and compliance with procedures.
• Coordinate with shipping/receiving for inbound/outbound movements.
• Maintain clear communication and resolve operational issues promptly.
