Job summary

Ronald McDonald House BC & Yukon is seeking a Volunteer & Community Engagement Specialist based in Vancouver with hybrid work options. The role focuses on coordinating volunteer recruitment, engagement, community partnerships, and group programs to support our mission of helping families stay together during hospital stays.

The position reports to the Manager, People & Culture and involves developing pipelines, youth pathways, and meaningful volunteer experiences across BC & Yukon, including

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in HR, Volunteer Management, Community Development, Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Communications, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Two or more years of experience in volunteer management, community engagement, partnership coordination, program coordination or related field.
• Certified in Volunteer Administration (CVA) or related designation is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead volunteer recruitment including outreach, information sessions, application screening, interviews and placement recommendations.
• Coordinate onboarding, orientation, required screening and documentation.
• Maintain volunteer role descriptions and collaborate with departments to identify needs and opportunities.
• Develop and maintain engagement tools, workflows, and resources for consistent practices across departments.
