Your resume and cover letter, tailored to exactly what they’re hiring for.
Aon is seeking a Senior Broker & Technical Specialist in Vancouver to analyze risks and tailor insurance strategies. You will prepare proposals, negotiate with underwriters, and maintain relationships with the technical specialist community.
Applicants should have 7-10 years of experience in insurance, particularly in Directors & Officers liability. This role requires expertise in contract negotiation and excellent communication skills, and you will work closely with Aon’s Financial Services Group.
Do you enjoy combining collaboration and technical expertise? Meeting with clients one day and deep diving into policy wording the next? Are you the person who likes dissecting policy language, debating the “fine print,” and making sure every clause works in the client’s best interest? Do you want to be the broker at the table and the go‑to technical expert others rely on for answers? If so, the Senior Broker & Technical Specialist opportunity within Aon’s Financial Services Group could be your next move.
This role is open to candidates located in any Canadian city with an Aon office. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada. This role is not eligible for sponsorship, and we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa or work permit.
Aon is in the business of better decisions
At Aon, we shape decisions for the better to protect and enrich the lives of people around the world. As an organization, we are united through trust as one inclusive team and are passionate about helping colleagues and clients succeed.
As a Senior Broker & Technical Specialist, you will be part of Aon’s national Financial Services Group. You’ll be supported in your development through training, collaboration, and mentorship, and you’ll work closely with account managers and other brokers, acting both as a placement lead and as a trusted technical advisor. Your work will have a significant impact on clients’ risk transfer strategies, particularly in relation to their executive risks, which may include directors’ and officers’ liability, fiduciary liability (pension plan), employment practices liability, fidelity/crime, and other financial lines solutions. In addition to broking, you will be the “go‑to” person on policy wording, technical issues, and complex contract reviews, and act as a key point of contact for insurers’ technical specialists.
