Job summary

Aon is seeking a Broker, Commercial Risk in Vancouver to join its Commercial Risk Broking Group. The role involves negotiating with underwriters for favorable terms, developing coverage strategies with clients, and supporting renewal and new business initiatives.

The candidate will collaborate with sales producers, mentor junior brokers, and build strong relationships across the underwriting community to secure competitive pricing and optimal coverage for clients.

Qualifications

• 5+ years property and casualty experience in complex placement.
• Proven knowledge and relationships with domestic insurance carriers.
• Broker licenses across Canada required.

Responsibilities

• Participates in client and prospect meetings
• Collaborates with clients to develop coverage strategy and marketing initiatives for renewal and prospective business
• Collaborates with sales producers to support growth strategies and specific prospecting activities
• Collaborates to build regional initiatives around Casualty & Property lines of coverage
• Provides guidance, training and mentoring to assist in the development of less experienced Brokers within the national group
• Builds productive working relationships with peers and higher-level professionals internally and externally to exchange information and make recommendations
• Analyzes client specific risk exposure and details coverage requirements
• Prepares and presents marketing proposals for renewals and new business
• Negotiates with underwriters to establish the best terms and conditions with respect to premiums and coverage
• Follows up with insurer to confirm terms of negotiated contract are met
• Approves documentation for new contracts, policy changes, additions, deletions and renewals
• Establishes contacts and cultivates relationships within the underwriting community in an effort to achieve the best premiums and coverage for Aon clients
• Performs other related duties as required

The salary range for this position is $65,000- $93,870. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.
