Position Summary:

The Vice President , Finance will join BAM’s Global Financial Reporting team with a focus on supporting the team within the financial reporting process as well as on key technical matters. Located in Downtown Toronto, the Vice President , Finance role is a highly visible position that provides a solid foundation and exposure to a progressive and dynamic career with a leading global asset management firm . The Vice President will take a leading role in assessing and concluding on key technical accounting matters across the global BAM organization as well as take on key responsibilities associated with quarterly and annual financial reporting processes and certain ad hoc special projects as they arise.

Responsibilities:

Lead the analysis and resolution of complex technical accounting issues and the execution of regulatory updates, including the coordination with auditors and operating business groups

Take a leading role in the p repar ation of BAM ’s consolidated financial statements and public disclosure documents on a quarterly and annual basis , specifically focused on ensuring compliance with relevant accounting guidance and related disclosures

Assist in the p rodu ction and review of financial reporting deliverables provided to the Board and senior management

Support internal and external audit teams in relation to quarterly review s , the annual audit and SOX compliance

Collaborate regularly with operating business groups and various B AM departments

Continuously look for efficiency in our processes, tools and reports and make suggestions to implement these into our framework

Assist as needed with due diligence related to capital market activity , a d-hoc analyses and presentations on financial and operating results, investor queries and special projects

Qualifications & Requirements:

Ten ( 10 ) years of progressive work experience in an accounting or auditing function

Extensive e xperience with SEC public company reporting requirements under US GAAP

Strong technical financial accounting knowledge

L eadership and interpersonal skills , and the willingness to always support the team

Highly organized and able to work in a dynamic, complex and fast-paced environment, as well as adapt quickly to manage changing priorities and deadlines

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Self-motivated and pro-active, with respect to both managing workload and professional development

Knowledge of HFM, and Workiva would be an asset
