Job Description : Vice President, Finance / Head of Finance / Chief Financial Officer

Our client, a high-growth manufacturing company in Toronto, is seeking a Vice President, Finance / Head of Finance / Chief Financial Officer with a strategic mindset and proven leadership in financial operations within the manufacturing industry. This role reports to the CEO and involves developing a robust financial and operational environment to drive change and sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities :

  1. Financial Strategy and Planning :
  2. Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with company objectives.
  3. Lead financial planning, analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  4. Provide strategic insights and recommendations to the CEO and executive team.
  1. Financial Management and Reporting :
  2. Oversee accounting, finance, forecasting, and reporting functions.
  3. Ensure accurate and timely financial reports for stakeholders.
  4. Monitor financial performance and identify improvement areas.
  1. Capital Goods, Material Cost, and Flow :
  2. Understand financial implications of capital goods and material costs.
  3. Implement cost control and optimize material flow.
  4. Collaborate with operations to maximize resource efficiency.
  1. Treasury and Risk Management :
  2. Manage cash flow, investments, and financing activities.
  3. Develop risk mitigation strategies, including insurance and hedging.
  1. Operational Efficiency :
  2. Optimize capital structure and financial processes.
  3. Drive operational improvements and cost reductions in collaboration with other departments.

Minimum Requirements :

  • CPA / CMA with 10-15+ years of senior financial leadership experience.
  • Proven success in manufacturing industry finance roles.
  • Extensive expertise in financial planning, analysis, and strategy.
  • Understanding of capital goods and material costs impacts.
  • Ability to implement strategies supporting high-growth environments.
  • Strong leadership, team management, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Experience overseeing shared services.
