Job Description

The Vice President of Finance will join BAM's Global Financial Reporting team, focusing on supporting the team within the financial reporting process and on key technical matters. Located in Downtown Toronto, this highly visible role offers a solid foundation and exposure to a progressive and dynamic career with a leading global asset management firm. The Vice President will lead assessments and conclusions on key technical accounting matters across the global BAM organization, as well as oversee responsibilities related to quarterly and annual financial reporting and ad hoc projects as they arise.

Responsibilities:
  1. Lead the analysis and resolution of complex technical accounting issues and regulatory updates, coordinating with auditors and operating business groups.
  2. Take a leading role in preparing BAM's consolidated financial statements and public disclosure documents quarterly and annually, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and disclosures.
  3. Assist in producing and reviewing financial reporting deliverables for the Board and senior management.
  4. Support internal and external audit teams during quarterly reviews, annual audits, and SOX compliance.
  5. Collaborate regularly with operating business groups and various BAM departments.
  6. Continuously seek efficiencies in processes, tools, and reports, and suggest improvements to our framework.
  7. Assist with due diligence related to capital market activities, ad hoc analyses, financial and operational result presentations, investor queries, and special projects.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  1. Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in accounting or auditing functions.
  2. Extensive experience with SEC public company reporting requirements under US GAAP.
  3. Strong technical financial accounting knowledge.
  4. Leadership and interpersonal skills, with a supportive approach to team collaboration.
  5. Highly organized, able to work in a dynamic, complex, and fast-paced environment, and adapt quickly to changing priorities and deadlines.
  6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  7. Self-motivated and proactive in managing workload and professional development.
  8. Knowledge of HFM and Workiva is an asset.
