Job summary

Island Animal Hospital in Nanaimo, BC is seeking a Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. The role focuses on professional client interaction, appointment management, and coordination between medical teams and referring communities.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of front desk experience in veterinary or human medicine, strong EMR and MS Office skills, and a calm, empathetic demeanor. We offer comprehensive benefits and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a receptionist or front desk in human or veterinary medicine.
• Professional and calm demeanour when assisting clients with questions, requests or sensitive information.
• Experience booking medical appointments and locating schedules within the system for rebooking, new appointments and urgent appointments.
• Strong knowledge of electronic medical records; training is provided for our in-house system.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, Adobe).
• Previous knowledge of Moneris POS terminals is an asset.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when recording and relaying information.

Veterinary Receptionist

Location: Nanaimo, BC

Compensation: $19.00 to $25.00 per hour
