Guardian Veterinary Centre in Edmonton, AB is seeking a part-time Veterinary Receptionist to join our client care team on Sundays. Join a busy hospital front desk and help create a warm, welcoming environment for patients and pet parents.

The ideal candidate is organized, motivated, empathetic and eager to learn. Previous customer service or front desk experience is an asset, as is enrollment in a veterinary medicine program.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a veterinary medicine program is an asset.
• Previous customer service or front desk experience in hospitality is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Create a warm and welcoming environment for patients and pet parents.
• Answer a multiline phone system and track and schedule appointments effectively.
• Place outbound calls to pet parents for follow-up and future appointment bookings.
• Respond and manage email correspondence; clients, referring veterinarians & internal office messages.
• Admit and discharge pet patients.
• Invoice/bill clients; obtain pet owner confirmation, and process payments.
• Perform general housekeeping duties; maintain cleanliness of reception area, examination rooms, pet holding areas, and common areas.
• Have a willingness to learn more regarding veterinary services, updated medical office procedures and assisting the Veterinary staff with various tasks and treatments.
• Learn common medical terminology.
• Enrollment in a veterinary medicine program (i.e. VMR, VMA, Veterinary Technician or Pre-Veterinary programs) is an asset.
• Previous customer service or front desk experience in hospitality is an asset.
• Comfortable being around cats, dogs and other furry friends.

Guardian Veterinary Centre is welcoming part-time Veterinary Receptionists to our team!

The perfect candidate will be an organized, motivated, eager and empathetic individual with a desire to learn more about the veterinary hospital setting. Our CCS team is an important, highly valued team that supports the entire hospital. This is an amazing opportunity for post-secondary students to gain exposure and experience at the front desk of a busy veterinary hospital.

Schedule

We are currently seeking a candidate who can work a day shift on Sundays.

Key Responsibilities
