Abbotsford Animal Hospital in Canada is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Assistant / Receptionist to join our team. In this dual-support role, you will welcome clients and provide hands-on clinical and administrative assistance to our veterinarians and technicians.

Key responsibilities include clinical support during exams, front-desk duties, scheduling appointments, handling billing, updating patient records, and maintaining a clean, low-stress environment for our animal patients.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Completion of a Veterinary Assistant or Medical Office Assistant program is a strong asset.
• Previous front-desk, customer service, or animal handling experience.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Support: Assist veterinary staff with patient restraint during examinations, blood draws, and X-rays.
• Facility Maintenance: Keep the reception area, exam rooms, and common spaces clean, tidy, and low-stress for animals.
• Client Service: Greet pet parents and patients warmly, answer multi-line phone calls, and manage clinic emails.
• Scheduling: Book appointments, coordinate follow-ups, and make reminder calls for vaccinations.
• Administrative Tasks: Update patient records, process financial transactions, handle billing, and manage invoices.
