Silver Hotel Group’s Valhalla Hotel & Conference Centre in Thunder Bay, Ontario is seeking a Cook 3 to lead diverse kitchen operations and ensure quality across breakfast, lunch, dinner, and banquets. You will work independently at various stations and maintain high production standards with strong attention to detail.

The role requires flexibility with hours, a positive team attitude, and a passion for presentation.

Qualifications

• Experience in kitchen operations and food preparation.
• Ability to work at multiple stations and adapt to busy shifts.
• Strong verbal and written communication for team coordination.
• Knowledge of food hygiene and safe handling practices.
• Professional appearance and positive attitude.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in recipe execution.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to hotel standards for quality, recipes and preparation.
• Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning and storage.
• Wash, peel, and prep fruits and vegetables.
• Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients.
• Ensure top quality of prepared foods.
• Set up and maintain readiness of menu items.
• Follow portioning and presentation guidelines.
• Store unused food properly to minimize waste.
• Maintain health and sanitation practices.
• Coordinate with Food and Beverage to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
• Prepare hot and cold foods per recipes and standards.
• Perform other duties as required.
