Zebra Technologies seeks a UX Designer II to translate user needs into innovative concepts across enterprise spaces. You will work with cross-functional teams on information architecture, wireframes, and production UI specs, while considering production limits and advocating human-centered design principles.

The role involves collaborating with Product and Design teams, applying design thinking, and delivering best-in-class experiences for Zebra’s customers in hybrid settings.

Qualifications

Location: Saint-Laurent, Quebec Canada (Hybrid – 3 days in office)
Description
  • 2+ years professional experience as a User Experience Designer
  • Having a portfolio (applicants WITHOUT A PORTFOLIO WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED!).
  • Strong problem-solving and conceptual development ability
  • The team is more interested in a UX designer who has designed machine vision applications and/or AI applications Not AI for generating their work but would prefer someone who has worked on a UX component with AI.

Any certifications required: Bachelor’s degree or certificate in HCI, design or equivalent.

Specific software experience: Experience with modern software design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, InVision, or similar platforms. Experience with AI-assisted design and prototyping tools, including Figma Make and Claude.

Summary

UX designer II will help contribute to software design solutions by understanding user needs in a variety of enterprise spaces and creating innovative concepts to help solve those challenges. The designer will integrate with cross-functional teams across all parts of Zebra’s business, practicing design thinking and evangelizing a human-centered design approach to ensure Zebra’s solutions offer a best-in-class experience for our customers. The designer will look to support a variety of technical deliverables ranging from information architecture, workflow diagrams, wireframes, and pixel-perfect production UI specifications. They will have a more advanced understanding of production limitations around software technology and be able to clearly articulate their viewpoints when working with teams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Seek out and capture user needs, customer use-cases, and create design prototypes to be validated by collaborating directly with our cross-functional stakeholders (such as Product Managers, Program Managers) and senior designers.
  • Supports all stages of design development process from customer research, concept development, prototyping and execution.
  • Supports and presents work to team members.
  • Proficient understanding of interaction design, visual design, design systems, and other related design skills.
  • Basic understanding of mobile or web development technologies and limitations
  • Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
Job Requirements

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree or certificate in HCI, design or equivalent.

Minimum Work Experience (years): 2+ years professional experience as a User Experience Designer.

Key Skills and Competencies
  • Strong problem-solving and conceptual development ability.
  • Strong understanding of web and mobile technology.
  • Effective oral, written, visual communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience with automation systems and technology is a plus.
  • Familiarity with GenAI technologies is a plus
