Job summary

LJ Hanson Consulting Inc. in Edmonton, AB is seeking a Utility Transmission Project Analyst to support the delivery of complex high‑voltage transmission and substation projects.

You will monitor costs and schedules, validate asset data, and develop dashboards using Excel and Power BI while coordinating with project managers, engineering, operations and field teams to drive data‑driven project outcomes.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of project management, coordination or support experience.
• Experience with electrical utilities, transmission/distribution, substations or infrastructure projects.
• Experience supporting costs, schedules, milestones, documentation and reporting.
• Experience with asset data management, data quality, validation, reconciliation and data governance.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and Power BI skills.
• Experience collaborating with project managers, engineering, operations and contractors.
• Understanding of PMBOK project management principles.

Hiring: Utility Transmission Project Analyst

We’re seeking a Utility Transmission Project Analyst to support the delivery of complex high-voltage transmission and substation projects.

What We’re Looking For

• 4+ years of project management, project coordination or project support experience
• Experience with electrical utilities, transmission/distribution, substations, construction or infrastructure projects
• Experience supporting project costs, schedules, milestones, documentation and reporting
• Experience with asset data management, data quality, validation, reconciliation and data governance
• Strong Microsoft Excel and Power BI skills
• Experience working with project managers, engineering, operations, field teams and contractors
• Experience with process improvement, workflow optimization and/or automation
• Understanding of PMBOK/project management principles
• Degree or technical education in Engineering, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Mathematics, IT or a related discipline
• PMP is an asset, but not required

Highly Desirable

• Direct experience with energized substations
• Understanding of electrical hazards and safe-work practices
• Experience supporting high-voltage transmission projects

About the Role

You’ll support the Transmission Program Management team by using project and asset data to help drive effective project delivery.
