Job summary

Peterborough Hyundai in Peterborough, Ontario, seeks an experienced Used Car Manager to lead our pre-owned vehicle department. This hands-on leadership role focuses on maximizing inventory turns, profitability, team performance, and customer satisfaction while upholding operational excellence across the used-vehicle operation.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of automotive management experience.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle appraisal, wholesale purchasing, market-based pricing.
• Experience with OpenLane and EBlock.
• Proven ability to grow front-end gross and inventory turnover.
• Knowledge of OMVIC regulations.

Responsibilities

• Appraise trade-ins and decide retail/wholesale/auction strategy.
• Source inventory via wholesale channels including OpenLane, EBlock, dealer-to-dealer transactions, auctions, and private purchases.
• Manage inventory to a maximum 45 days supply.
• Monitor aging reports (30/60/90 days).
• Develop a service drive acquisition strategy to purchase vehicles directly from customers.
• Set and adjust retail pricing using live market data and pricing tools.
• Coordinate with Service and Detail to ensure front-line readiness within 1–3 days.
• Own monthly sales volume and profitability metrics for the department.
• Recruit, coach, motivate, and manage the Used Vehicle Sales Team.
• Ensure vehicles are merchandised online with photos, descriptions, and pricing across channels.
• Maintain OMVIC regulatory compliance and Ontario disclosures.
• Prepare and present performance reports to Executive Management.
