Job summary

The 401 Group of Companies’ London, Ontario location seeks an experienced Used Car Manager to lead our pre‑owned vehicle department. This hands‑on leadership role focuses on maximizing inventory turn, profitability, team performance, and customer satisfaction while ensuring operational excellence across the used vehicle operation.

You will supervise appraisal, sourcing, pricing, and online merchandising, maintain 45‑day inventory, and develop service‑drive acquisitions.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of automotive management experience.
• Strong knowledge of appraisal, wholesale purchasing, pricing, and inventory.
• Experience with OpenLane and EBlock.
• Ability to manage inventory turn while maximizing gross profit.
• Demonstrated leadership with high-performing sales teams.
• Understanding of OMVIC regulations and Ontario retail rules.

Responsibilities

• Appraise trade‑in vehicles and decide retail/wholesale/auction path.
• Source quality inventory via wholesale channels and auctions.
• Maintain max 45 days inventory and monitor aging reports.
• Develop service drive strategy to source vehicles from customers.
• Set and adjust retail pricing using live market data.
• Coordinate with Service/Detail to front‑line ready vehicles in 1–3 days.
• Own monthly sales, front‑end/back‑end gross, and department profitability.
• Recruit, coach, and manage the Used Vehicle Sales Team.
• Ensure accurate online merchandising with photos, descriptions, and pricing.
• Maintain OMVIC compliance and disclosure standards.
• Prepare regular performance reports for Executive Management.
