Job summary

Battlefield Equipment Rentals in Barrie, ON seeks an Unlicensed Heavy Equipment Mechanic to service and repair a wide range of construction equipment, including Genie, Skyjack, and CAT machines. You’ll work in a team-driven shop, maintain safety standards, and deliver reliable repairs aimed at keeping our fleet on the job.

Experience as heavy duty mechanic or a 3rd/4th year apprentice is valued. You should be customer-service oriented, capable with CAT systems, and flexible for on-call work.

Qualifications

• Experienced heavy-duty mechanic or 3rd/4th year apprentice with diagnostic skills.
• Experience repairing Genie, Skyjack, and CAT equipment.
• Excellent communication and customer service orientation.
• Ability to work in a team and independently.
• Willing to on-call and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Strong understanding of hydraulic systems and shop safety.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workstation.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and estimate repair costs.
• Inspect rental equipment for proper operation and faults.
• Repair or replace defective parts using hand and power tools.
• Test repaired equipment to meet manufacturer specifications.
• Complete service reports and related documentation accurately.
• Support branch operations and collaborate with other departments.
