Job summary
Krsna Academy in Toronto is seeking a University Math, Statistics & Economics Tutor to support university and IB students with personalized tutoring across Calculus, Linear Algebra, Statistics, Econometrics, and Micro/Macroeconomics. This contract, hybrid position combines online sessions with occasional in-person meetings.
You will assess understanding, explain methods, and provide progress notes through the learner portal.
Qualifications
- Graduate degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, or related field.
- TA or teaching experience at university or IB level.
- Ability to explain the intuition behind methods, not just steps.
- Patience and clarity with stressed/time-constrained students.
- Comfort teaching online with digital whiteboards and video.
- Inclusive teaching practices, including neurodivergent learners (asset).
Responsibilities
- Tutor university students one-on-one and in small groups in Calculus, Linear Algebra, Statistics, Econometrics, and Micro/Macro economics.
- Prepare sessions aligned to each student’s syllabus and teach concepts.
- Use AI-generated solutions as teaching materials when appropriate.
- Share short progress notes through the learner portal.
- Adapt to hybrid/online formats with flexibility for evenings/exams.
