Job summary

Oxford Learning Erin Mills is seeking a part‑time high school math teacher/tutor to support students after school and on Saturdays. Lessons are pre‑planned, and staff receive full training in the center’s proprietary approach.

The role involves teaching up to three students at a time, both online and in‑person, with campaigns to maintain regular student updates and notes. Relocation is not offered, and strong reliability is a must.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field.
  • Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered.
  • Teaching certification an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of the Grades 9–12 math curriculum including functions, algebra, trig, calculus and vectors.

Responsibilities

  • Teach up to 3 students at a time at different levels.
  • Teach both online and in‑person.
  • Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
  • Fill in post‑lesson notes.
  • Complete daily student communication updates.
  • Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times.

Job description

High School Math Teacher/Tutor Wanted

Gain valuable teaching experience! Oxford Learning Erin Mills is currently seeking part‑time teacher‑tutors for a role in our learning centre. This position is perfect for anyone who loves working with students, enjoys numbers and equations, and is passionate about helping others build their skills in these areas.

Tutor‑teachers at Oxford Learning do not have to lesson‑plan before class, as all lessons are pre‑planned. Applicants will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods.

Position Requirements

All Teacher‑Tutors at Oxford Learning work during after‑school and evening hours: Monday–Thursday year‑round (3:45 pm – 8:00 pm) and Saturdays from September to June (10:00 am – 2:00 pm). We require a minimum availability of 2 days. Our preferred structure is Day 1: Mondays and Wednesdays, or Day 2: Tuesdays and Thursdays. A commitment until the end of the term in June is preferred; continuing through the summer is even better. Your students will love working with you, and being reliable is a must.

This role is in‑person. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position. Relocation packages are not available. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field

  • Good knowledge of the current Grades 9–12 math curriculum, particularly senior math and including, but not limited to, advanced functions, algebra, trigonometry and calculus, and vectors.
Experience
  • Some experience teaching/tutoring math at a Grade 9 to 12 (or equivalent) level
  • Strong English written and oral communication skills
  • Strong math skills and ability to guide students’ understanding
  • Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
