Job summary

Oxford Learning Maple in Vaughan, Ontario is seeking a part-time high school math teacher/tutor to support students in grades 9–12 after-school hours. The role involves teaching up to three students at different levels, following Oxford Learning methodologies, and providing post-lesson notes and updates.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor's degree or equivalent, tutoring experience, strong math skills, and excellent English communication.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • Fourth‑year students with tutoring experience will be considered.
  • Teaching certification is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of Grades 9‑12 math curriculum including calculus and vectors.

Responsibilities

  • Teach up to three students at different levels.
  • Follow Oxford Learning methodologies.
  • Fill in post‑lesson notes and complete daily student communication updates.
  • Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times.

High School Math Teacher/Tutor Wanted

Overview

Motivated by mathematics? Excited by equations? Eager to help students succeed in math? Oxford Learning Maple is looking for part‑time teacher‑tutors to work in our learning centre in Vaughan, Ontario. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with students, love numbers, and are passionate about building others’ skills.

Position Requirements
  • Work during after‑school and evening hours (4:00 pm – 8:00 pm) and some Saturdays (10:00 am – 3:00 pm).
  • Commitment until the end of the term in June is preferred; continuing through the summer is even better.
  • Reliable presence and must be able to commute to the Maple location; this is not an online position.
  • Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a relevant field.
  • Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered.
  • Teaching certification is an asset.
  • Good knowledge of the current Grades 9‑12 math curriculum, particularly senior math and including advanced functions, algebra, trigonometry, calculus, and vectors.
Experience
  • Some experience teaching or tutoring math at Grade 9‑12 (or equivalent) level.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Strong math skills and ability to guide students’ understanding.
  • Ability to multitask with up to three students at a time.
