Overview

The Nursing Unit Clerk coordinates the daily staffing of the Nursing Department and assists in maintaining a safe and secure environment for residents, visitors, and other staff members.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate staffing and scheduling needs for the Nursing Department, including replacement of staff on a daily call-in basis and updating staffing changes on the Master Schedule and daily compliments.
• Obtain approval for overtime from the Director of Care.
• Maintain attendance/absenteeism reports and communicate any recurrent absenteeism to the Director of Care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Post-secondary education is an asset.
• Must have exceptional English communication skills, both orally and in writing.
• May be required to obtain and maintain current CPR certification.

Salary

Salary: $20.70 per hour
