Job summary

Cameco is seeking an experienced underground mine surveyor to perform precise mark-ups, collect development data, and support drilling campaigns. You will coordinate with mine technical services and operations to align field work with project timelines and procedures.

Strong MS Office skills and laser scanning experience are required. The role requires a technical mining credential, at least five years of field surveying in underground environments, and willingness to rotate shifts with site

Qualifications

  • Technical certificate or diploma in mining or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of underground mine surveying experience.
  • Equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.
  • Proficiency with survey equipment and software such as GPS and Total Stations.
  • Experience performing and processing stope and cavity laser scans; proficient in MS Office and 3D drafting software such as Deswik/Vulcan/AutoCAD.
  • Willing to work on a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately and efficiently perform survey mark-ups based on approved designs and layouts to support key mining activities including development, production, freeze drilling, diamond drilling and Cavity Monitor Surveys, including underground drone flights.
  • Perform month-end surveys to capture development progress and issue the month-end survey report.
  • Liaise with mine technical services and mine operations to coordinate field survey work, timeline requirements, priorities, and survey methodology.
  • Review and update relevant standard procedures and work instructions as required.
  • Conduct concrete QA/QC including concrete cylinder breaks/slump testing etc. and perform field duties to support mine engineering data collection and instrumentation monitoring efforts.
