Job summary

Coeur Silvertip seeks a skilled Surveyor to support mining engineering in a Northern British Columbia operation. The role runs on a two-week in/two-week out shift rotation with 12-hour days at a remote camp.

Primary duties include monitoring progress, establishing survey control, and preparing as-built prints while maintaining Deswik and Vulcan systems and driving layouts. A technical diploma and 5+ years underground survey experience are required.

Qualifications

• Technical school diploma is required.
• Minimum of five (5) years underground survey experience.
• Knowledge of CAD, word processing and spreadsheet software.
• Experience with Total Station technology.
• GPS / GIS experience.
• Drone surveying experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Physically fit to perform duties.

Responsibilities

• Monitor underground mining progress and establish survey control points as required.
• Calculate month end tonnage reconciliation by survey.
• Maintain up-to-dates in Deswik and Vulcan.
• Issue updated as-built prints.
• Prepare technical memos, reports, driving layouts and mining specifications.
• Perform pre-operational checks, operate equipment and follow Safe Operating Procedures.
• Conduct weekly checks of ventilation flows and diesel exhaust gases.
• Provide technical and mentoring support for Underground Mine and Surface Operations.
• Communicate equipment deficiencies and operational issues clearly.
• Accomplish other tasks within area of expertise as requested.
