Job summary

BME is seeking an Underground Mechanical Technician to support underground emulsion charging systems across multiple sites. You will troubleshoot, maintain, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems to ensure reliable operation of critical equipment in mining environments.

The role emphasizes hands-on maintenance, adherence to safety and regulatory standards, and collaboration with stakeholders to optimise system performance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Mechanical Engineering Technician Diploma.
• Min. 3 years’ experience maintaining mobile and fixed plant equipment.
• Mining industry experience.
• Familiarity with BME’s systems and processes.
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting.
• Planning and organizing.
• Ability to lead and train small teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Independent work with minimal supervision.
• Understanding of operational best practices and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair equipment across sites.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Support reliability and safety standards.
• Complete maintenance sheets, service reports and parts usage logs.
• Monitor critical spares and consumables.
• Coordinate repairs and logistics with stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with technical standards.
• Identify and implement continuous improvements.
