Job summary

Toromont Cat in Winnipeg is seeking an Undercarriage Rebuilder to join our team. The role involves disassembling and inspecting track chains, operating hydraulic presses, and assembling track components, with a focus on OEM compliance and safe, efficient workflows.

The ideal candidate has experience with heavy equipment undercarriage systems, reads technical manuals, and can operate shop tools and welding equipment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with heavy equipment undercarriage systems or related mechanical rebuilds.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to read and interpret service manuals, specifications, and technical drawings.
• Experience operating hydraulic presses, welding equipment, and shop tools is considered an asset.
• Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.
• Valid driver's license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble and inspect track chains.
• Operate hydraulic track presses and specialized undercarriage tooling.
• Perform track pressing, pin and bushing turns, and track group assembly.
• Measure component wear and determine repair or replacement requirements.
• Maintain quality standards to meet OEM specifications.
• Safely operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and shop equipment as required.
• Complete work orders, service reports, and documentation accurately.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Collaborate with technicians, supervisors, and parts personnel to ensure workflow and customer satisfaction.
• Handle and move heavy components and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Assist with general facility and yard operations, including minor repairs, snow removal, waste handling.

Toromont Cat is looking for an Undercarriage Rebuilder to join our team in Winnipeg!

Pay Type

Full Time, Permanent

Compensation

$33.35

In a typical day, YOU will:

• Disassemble and inspect track chains.
• Operate hydraulic track presses and specialized undercarriage tooling.
• Perform track pressing, pin and bushing turns, and track group assembly
• Measure component wear and determine repair or replacement requirements.
• Maintain quality standards throughout the rebuild process to meet OEM specifications.
• Safely operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and shop equipment when required.

• Handling and movement of heavy components, as well as occasional physically demanding tasks.
• Assist with general facility and yard operations as required, including minor building repairs, snow removal, building, shop, and yard maintenance, as well as the safe handling and disposal of scrap metal, scrap wood, and other waste materials.
