Job summary

Toromont Cat seeks a Shop Technician, Heavy Equipment to service Caterpillar equipment in our Eastern Canada shop.

Ideal candidates hold a post-secondary education, a valid 421A or 310T license, and 3–5 years of technician experience, with heavy equipment exposure. We emphasise safety, customer satisfaction, and ongoing internal training.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of technician experience.
• Experience with heavy construction or mining equipment is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviours.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems using Caterpillar testing equipment.
• Repair and service Caterpillar and all heavy equipment within established standards.
• Prepare accurate service and repair reports in a timely manner.
• Maintain excellent customer relations through frequent communication.
• Undertake assignments as required in support of customer needs.

Job description

Toromont Cat is looking for a Shop Technician, Heavy Equipment to join our team! As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for servicing a particular line of Caterpillar equipment and components in our shop. Your day will include planning, trouble shooting and repairing, as well as, preparing necessary service reports for customers. We are looking for people who are interested in diverse product range. Our ideal candidate is an enthusiastic team player who will focus on safety and customer satisfaction in every job.

Must-haves for this role:

• Minimum post-secondary education
• Valid 421A Heavy Equipment Technician or 310T License relative to this position, following Provincial standards
• Minimum 3-5 years of working experience as a Technician
• Experience with heavy construction or mining equipment a strong asset
