Job summary

Toromont Cat is seeking an Undercarriage Rebuilder in Winnipeg, MB. You will disassemble and inspect track chains, operate hydraulic presses, and perform track assembly to OEM specifications.

This full-time, permanent role offers $33.35 per hour plus eligibility for additional premiums as part of our rewards package. You may work across multiple locations in Eastern Canada, with a focus on safety, quality, and efficient service.

Qualifications

• Experience with heavy equipment undercarriage systems or related mechanical rebuilds.
• Ability to read and interpret service manuals, specifications, and technical drawings.
• Experience operating hydraulic presses, welding equipment, and shop tools is a plus.
• Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble and inspect track chains.
• Operate hydraulic track presses and undercarriage tooling.
• Perform track pressing, pin and bushing turns, and track group assembly.
• Measure component wear and determine repair or replacement needs.
• Maintain quality standards to OEM specs throughout rebuilds.
• Safely operate forklifts, cranes, and shop equipment as required.
• Complete work orders, service reports, and documentation accurately.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Collaborate with technicians, supervisors, and parts personnel to ensure workflow.
• Handle heavy components and assist with general facility/yards tasks.

In a typical day, YOU will:

• Disassemble and inspect track chains.
• Operate hydraulic track presses and specialized undercarriage tooling.
• Perform track pressing, pin and bushing turns, and track group assembly
• Measure component wear and determine repair or replacement requirements.
• Maintain quality standards throughout the rebuild process to meet OEM specifications.
• Safely operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and shop equipment when required.
• Complete work orders, service reports, and required documentation accurately.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Collaborate with technicians, supervisors, and parts personnel to ensure efficient workflow and customer satisfaction.
• Handling and movement of heavy components, as well as occasional physically demanding tasks.
• Assist with general facility and yard operations as required, including minor building repairs, snow removal, building, shop, and yard maintenance, as well as the safe handling and disposal of scrap metal, scrap wood, and other waste materials.

Must-haves for this role:

• Experience working with heavy equipment undercarriage systems or related mechanical rebuilds.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to read and interpret service manuals, specifications, and technical drawings.
• Experience operating hydraulic presses, welding equipment, and shop tools is considered an asset.
• Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.
• Valid driver's license preferred.
