Job summary

Discovery Silver, located near Timmins in Porcupine, Ontario, seeks an Uncertified Journeyperson Millwright to inspect, repair and maintain surface mechanical equipment ensuring safe, reliable operations.

The role offers a 4x3 schedule with a $51.93 hourly rate. Candidates should have 3–5 years in mining/manufacturing and be working toward an Industrial Mechanic-Millwright license; strong teamwork and safety mindset required.

Qualifications

• Working toward a Licensed Industrial Mechanic-Millwright.
• Knowledge of compressors, pumps and hoisting plants including conveyance, pumps, crushers, conveyors, mills, agitators, piping and hydraulic systems.
• 3–5 years of trade experience in Mining or Manufacturing.
• Computer skills with Windows software (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, install, disassemble, repair, and perform predictive and preventive maintenance on surface stationary equipment (pumps, conveyors, crushers, mills, compressors, rock breakers).
• Ensure compliance with OHSA and company environmental regulations; safety and sustainability standards.
• Collaborate across departments to achieve goals; be highly motivated, organized and decisive.
• Bring own tools and work as part of a team or independently as required.
• Assist in other areas as needed.

Purpose

The successful applicant must be competent in inspecting, repairing, and maintaining Surface mechanical equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for troubleshooting, installing, disassembling, repairing, and performing predictive and preventive maintenance on surface stationary equipment. IE: pumps, conveyors, crushers, mills, compressors, rock breakers.
• Responsible for compliance with OHSA, Corporate and PGM Environmental Regulations, Safety and Sustainability Standards.
• Responsible to work collaboratively with others to achieve organizational goals both within the department and cross-department.
• Must be highly motivated, organized and must be capable of decision-making.
• Responsible for providing own tools.
• Must be able to work with a team or alone as required.
• Assisting in other works areas may be required.

Training and Education

• working towards a Licensed as a Industrial Mechanic-Millwright required
• Good knowledge of compressors, pumps and hoisting plant including conveyance, pumps, crushers, compressors, mills, agitators, piping and hydraulic system such as rock breaking system.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of trade experience
• Related experience in the Mining or Manufacturing Industry
• Computer skills, knowledge of Windows Software, Excel, Word, and Outlook
