Job summary

Discovery Kidd in Timmins, Ontario, is seeking a Millwright for a permanent, full-time position within the bargaining unit. Overtime and emergency callouts may be required.

You will report to the Maintenance Supervisor and be responsible for maintenance and repair of fixed equipment, mechanical installations, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance, using CMMS and standard procedures.

Qualifications

• Licensed millwright or eligible for license; apprentices considered if licensed candidates unavailable.
• Minimum 2 years of related experience.
• Complete or have recently completed CAAT and DAT testing.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and repair of fixed equipment (compressors, pumps, conveyors, fans, hydraulics, pneumatics, crushers, piping).
• Mechanical installations and troubleshooting of maintenance systems.
• Performing preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment.
• Working with maintenance programs, CMMS and maintenance procedures.
• Working safely in confined spaces, at heights, near open holes.

The Position:

We are seeking a licensed millwright; however, if no licensed candidates are available, qualified apprentices will be considered.

This is a permanent full-time position and is part of a collective bargaining unit. Some overtime and response to emergency callouts is required.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the successful applicant will be responsible for:

• Maintenance and repair of fixed equipment such as compressors, pumps, conveyors, fans, hydraulics, pneumatics, crushers and piping.
• Mechanical installations and troubleshooting of maintenance systems.
• Performing preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment.
• Working with maintenance programs, computer maintenance management systems and maintenance practices/procedures.
• Working safely in confined spaces, at heights and near open holes.

Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Certificate of Qualification as Millwright (red seal).
• An all-position CWB welding certification or the ability to be trained.
• Minimum 2 years' experience.
• Complete or have recently completed CAAT and DAT testing in a satisfactory manner.
