Job summary

Discovery Kidd is seeking a Mobile Maintenance Mechanic to perform safe maintenance, troubleshooting, inspection, and repair of mining equipment at our Timmins site. You will support preventive and reactive maintenance, while adhering to safety policies and promoting continuous improvement.

Ideal candidates will have a Heavy Equipment Certificate, at least three years of experience, and strong troubleshooting, analytical, and collaborative skills to work with engineering and management teams.

Qualifications

• Certificate of Qualification in Heavy Equipment is required.
• Minimum three years' experience preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills are essential.

Responsibilities

Discovery Kidd has an exciting opportunity for a Mobile Maintenance Mechanic.

The Position:

Reporting to Mobile Maintenance Supervisor, the successful applicant will be responsible for:

• Safe and efficient maintenance, troubleshooting, inspection, and repair of a range of traditional and sophisticated mining equipment.;
• Supporting the operation in preventative, corrective and reactive maintenance work processes and providing feedback to optimize reliability;
• Adhering to and promoting all safety policies, procedures and systems;
• Identifying and recommending opportunities for improvement of area activities or problem equipment;
• Perform daily tasks using Computer Maintenance Management Systems.

Skills and Qualifications:

• The ideal candidate will be a team player with a who possesses:
• Certificate of Qualification in Heavy Equipment
• Preference to individuals with minimum three (3) years' experience;
• A motivated attitude, a dynamic approach to getting tasks complete, and pride in accomplishment and craftsmanship;
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, locate, identify and diagnose malfunctions
• Strong ability to work under minimal supervision;
• Good interpersonal skills, communication skills and the ability to collaborate well with peers, engineering, and management;
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and interest in continuous learning and improvement.
• Primary experience with surface loaders/haul truck such as; Caterpillar and John Deer.
• Secondary experience with U/G equipment such as; Sandvik, Atlas Copco, MacLean, Marcotte & Kubota tractors would be considered an asset.
