Job summary

Discovery Kidd in Canada is seeking a Mobile Maintenance Mechanic to join our Kidd Operations. You will perform safe, efficient maintenance, troubleshoot and repair mining equipment, and support maintenance programs in a fast-paced environment.

You should have a Certificate of Qualification in Heavy Equipment, 3+ years of experience, and strong troubleshooting and collaboration skills. Experience with Caterpillar and John Deere equipment is a plus; CMMS tasks will be routine daily.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience in mobile maintenance for mining equipment.
• Experience with surface loaders/haul trucks (Caterpillar/John Deere) is preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and repair abilities.

Responsibilities

• Safe and efficient maintenance, troubleshooting, inspection, and repair of mining equipment.
• Support preventative, corrective and reactive maintenance and feedback to improve reliability.
• Adhere to safety policies and promote safe work practices.
• Identify opportunities to improve area activities or equipment.
• Perform daily tasks using Computer Maintenance Management Systems.

The Position:

Reporting to Mobile Maintenance Supervisor, the successful applicant will be responsible for:

• Safe and efficient maintenance, troubleshooting, inspection, and repair of a range of traditional and sophisticated mining equipment.;
• Supporting the operation in preventative, corrective and reactive maintenance work processes and providing feedback to optimize reliability;
• Adhering to and promoting all safety policies, procedures and systems;
• Identifying and recommending opportunities for improvement of area activities or problem equipment;
• Perform daily tasks using Computer Maintenance Management Systems.

Skills and Qualifications:

• The ideal candidate will be a team player with a who possesses:
• Certificate of Qualification in Heavy Equipment
• Preference to individuals with minimum three (3) years' experience;
• A motivated attitude, a dynamic approach to getting tasks complete, and pride in accomplishment and craftsmanship;
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, locate, identify and diagnose malfunctions
• Strong ability to work under minimal supervision;
• Good interpersonal skills, communication skills and the ability to collaborate well with peers, engineering, and management;
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and interest in continuous learning and improvement.
• Primary experience with surface loaders/haul truck such as; Caterpillar and John Deer.
• Secondary experience with U/G equipment such as; Sandvik, Atlas Copco, MacLean, Marcotte & Kubota tractors would be considered an asset.
