Job summary

BDO Canada LLP is seeking a Senior Associate to join our Corporate Restructuring group in Edmonton. You’ll help creditors and distressed companies navigate disruption, develop liquidity plans, and guide engagements from advisory to execution.

The role emphasizes analytical thinking, collaboration, and strong communication as you manage multiple client engagements and grow within a high-performing team.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in a professional accounting services firm (Audit experience is an asset).
• CPA designation obtained or in progress.
• Experience in corporate restructuring, insolvency, or turnaround is a strong asset—but not required. We’ll train the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial data, accounting records, and financial models.
• Assess business plans, forecasts, and financial positions of distressed companies.
• Prepare financial projection models, including 13-week cash flow forecasts, and scenario analyses.
• Support turnaround and restructuring strategies, including liquidity management, operational stabilization and recovery planning.
• Support the execution of formal restructuring mandates including Receiverships, Proposals, and Bankruptcies.
• Prepare formal reports to stakeholders, creditors, and the Courts.
• Work with management teams, lenders, creditors, legal counsel and other advisors.
• Take ownership of key workstreams and deliverables while managing multiple engagements and timelines.
