Job summary

XTL Transport Inc. in Airdrie, AB, is seeking a dynamic Truck & Trailer Technician to join our safety‑conscious, team‑oriented shop. You will diagnose, repair and maintain trucks and trailers, work with apprentices, and uphold our commitment to quality customer experiences.

Qualifications

• Journeyman, Heavy Equipment or Trailer Technician.
• CVIP Certification is required.
• Valid Class 3 driver's license with a clean abstract.
• Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision.
• Comfort working outside in all four seasons.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Speak/read/write/understand English.
• Welding or fabrication experience preferred.
• On-call rotation and overtime flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosis and perform major and minor Truck & Trailer repairs.
• Inspect motors in operation, road test vehicles using diagnostic devices.
• Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of truck/trailer systems.
• Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer’s specifications.
• Perform scheduled maintenance such as oil changes.
• Communicate work performed and future repair requirements to Supervisor.
• Inspect engines, transmissions, axles and brake systems to locate faults.
• Complete detailed inspection reports and work records.
• Work closely with apprentices as required.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and adhere to safety standards.
