Job summary

Canada Cartage is seeking an experienced Truck & Trailer Technician to join our maintenance team on site. We’re looking for someone with 6+ years of relevant experience; Journeyperson/Red Seal is an asset, but experienced unlicensed technicians may be considered.

Pre-employment checks apply. You’ll perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on trucks and trailers, maintain a clean workspace, and mentor apprentices.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of relevant truck, trailer, fleet, or heavy-duty equipment experience.
  • Journeyperson/Red Seal certification is an asset.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • CVIP and On-Road/Off-Road experience are assets.
  • Pre-employment checks including criminal record and references.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections, repairs, and diagnostics.
  • Troubleshoot and repair truck and trailer equipment.
  • Complete repairs efficiently and to industry standards.
  • Maintain safe, clean, and organized work areas.
  • Communicate equipment issues and repair recommendations to management.
  • Support and provide guidance to apprentices and other technicians.
  • Stay current with new technology and repair practices.

What You’ll Do

Experienced unlicensed technicians may be considered with 6 years of applicable experience within the last 10 years, including 10,800 hours and 70% of the trade scope.
